Give yourself credit

Now is the time to seek strength from within. Banks and credit card companies refuse to find ways to provide financing to consumers at attractive rates. This creates a perfect time to become less credit dependant. While credit is needed to build credit scores, consumers can limit the number of credit cards within their wallets. Cash is the new mantra and typically when cash is king, you get better terms. Paying cash more often will eliminate annual credit card fee's, monthly payments, late fee's and the overall stress that can be caused by debt, bill collectors and worry. Cash payments are not just payments with dollar bills, but include payments made by check, debit cards or by electronic bill payment. Essentially, once you pay for an item, there is no additional interest due or late payment fee's to think about. Consider this, customers who shop and use cash for their methods of payment are less likely to over splurge. Again, cash customers will ultimately benefit over the long run by deferring purchases until cash is available. Ideally, consumers should maintain two or three credit cards and utilize less than 30% of their high credit limit for each account. A debit card that is connected to a checking or savings account can help customers carry less cash in their pockets. Secured credit cards and prepaid credit cards also provide options that will allow you to make payments using your own money. Give yourself credit and pay using cash more often.
